ARDAL NORTH WEST LEAGUE – DECEMBER 21, 2021
Llandudno Albion 1 (Evans 73)
Llanrwst United 1 (Lundstram 75)
Despite now being without a win in six matches Albion could feel relatively satisfied with a point against fourth-place Llanrwst at Maesdu Park.
The visitors made it seven without defeat, although five of those games have ended in draws.
Albion dominated the early stages, but could have fallen behind when an attempted clearance from keeper Louis Williams hit the Roosters’ Gruff ap Gwyndaf and the ball nearly ended up in the net.
United danger man Callum Parry then went close to a 17th goal of the season, but just missed the target.
Llanrwst finished the first half on top, but come the break it remained 0-0.
It was still goalless at the hour mark when the Conwy Valley men brought on Benn Lundstram for Gwyn Jones.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 73rd minute when Lee Stokes played the ball in from the right and Dan Evans got the final touch to put Albion one-up.
The game was soon level again when sub Lundstram finished off a Sam Thomas cross.
Parry was unlucky not to win a penalty for the Rwsters when he appeared to be brought down in the area.
Then late on Lundstram’s fine run set up Parry, who looked set to bag the winner, but he blasted over.
