North Wales Coast East League Premier Division – December 11, 2021

Mochdre Sports 4 (Davies pen 44, Chris Lloyd 79, Woodfield 81, Williams 90)

Kinmel Bay 3 (Lloyd OG 15, Jones 85, Frazer 88)

Kane Williams delivered a 90th minute winner for Mochdre Sports in a seven-goal thriller against a new-look, but very determined Kinmel Bay.

Mochdre piled on early pressure, but Bay held their own and took a 15th minute lead.

Anthony Jones whipped a fine corner into the box and a wrong-footed Charlie Lloyd unluckily found his own net.

The visitors had substitute on the bench Joshua Formston red-carded for alleged dissent before in the 43rd minute Sports won a penalty.

Bay keeper 17-year-old Tyler Oakley-Evans received a yellow card for what appeared to be ungentlemanly conduct before Mochdre’s Kai Davies dispatched a lovely cleanly-struck penalty right down the middle.

Half-time: 1-1

Mochdre came out for the second half all guns ablaze and nearly went 2-1 up in the first minute only for an outstanding save from Oakley-Evans to deny them. The young keeper produced a number of tremendous stops.

Bay were now pinned back for long spells, but were always a threat on the counter attack and it nearly paid off when Mathew Marsh-Evans broke down the right hand side but unfortunately could not get his shot away.

The game remained 1-1 until the 79th minute after which all hell broke loose in the goals department.

Mochdre sent in a tantalising corner which everyone missed except Christopher Lloyd at the back post who made it 2-1.

Bay tried to play the ball from the back following the restart, but lost possession in the middle of the park.

Mochdre pounced and from the wing a cross was finished off by Owen Woodfield to make it 3-1 with 81 minutes gone.

Bay had a second wind and pushed hard to get back into the game. They were rewarded with a corner which Mochdre tried to clear, but the ball fell to substitute Josh Jones on the edge of the box and his well-placed shot made it 3-2 with 85 minutes played.

Alex Craig’s Kinmel side most definitely had the wind in their sails now and straight from kick off put Mochdre under pressure which led to a foul on 17-year-old Connor Craig near the corner flag.

Up stepped Anthony Jones to deliver a perfect ball for Jordan Frazer glance home and make it all-square in the 88th minute.

More action from a corner. Wonder how many were given in the game? Picture: BARRY GRIFFITHS

Could 10-man Kinmel Bay hold out for a draw or even grab a win?

Bay pressed for the decider, but Mochdre hit back with a great ball to the wing.

Oakley-Evans produced a fine stop from the resultant shot, but Sports fed another great ball into the box and Kane Williams headed home.

The Bay bench thought Williams was offside, but the ball had been headed on by a Kinmel player.

An absolutely fantastic game and a credit to tier 4.
