Mike Chapman marked his debut for Llanelwy in some style with a four-goal salvo at The Oval.
Chapman has been reunited with former manager Sandy Malone at Athletic following a dynamic spell at Llandudno Amateurs, where he had netted 23 times this season.
Joel Rowlands and Dan Price both struck twice for Llanelwy, with Steve Kirk also on target.
Athletic are third in the table with 13 wins in 14 outings. They are seven points behind leaders Cerrigydrudion but with five games in hand.
One of the best performances of the season from the second-place Amateurs in difficult conditions.
Boosted by the pre-match signings of returning Steve Collins and Ant Tidswell, Steve Montgomery and Carl Nichols’ side were always in command.
Collins scored twice, while there were single goals from Joe Jones, Sol Pita, Harry Montgomery and Reece Roberts.
Leaders Cerrig made it six straight wins with a hard-earned victory over a determined Henllan.
Travis Williams and Tomos Tryfan Jones scored for the home side.
Craig Bond (2) and Connor Morris (2 penalties) banked the points for Llysfaen in a solid performance.
Craig Lavery (2) and Neil Davies grabbed the goals which earned Caer Clwyd a well-earned maximum points over battling NFA.
Liam Bowers and a late Tomos Warren own goal ensured the visitors went close.
Lavery scored both of his goals in the first half to move up to 17 in all competitions for the season.
A seven-goal thriller finished in Y Glannau’s favour.
Harrison Bells bagged a hat-trick for the home side, with Chris McQuillen also on target.
Scott Court (2) and Chris King responded for Rhos.
Bellis struck after just 18 seconds and then made it 2-0 on 11 minutes with a looping header from a McQuillen cross.
Jake Reddaway hit the post for the home side before Scott Court replied from the penalty spot for Rhos close to the break.
Rhos keeper Gavin Lewis produced a couple of great stops from Bellis early in the second half before the scorer turned provider for McQuillen to tap in for 3-1.
Josh MacGillivray set up Bellis for his hat-trick on 70 minutes.
Rhos rallied and goals from Court and Chris King gave them hope, but Y Glannau deservedly took the points.
