Llandrindod Wells withdraw from the Ardal North East League

On the verge of the 2026/2027 season Llandrindod Wells have resigned from the Ardal North East League.

The Mid-Wales club has informed the league they will be withdrawing for the 2026-27 season, becoming the sixth club to resign from the Ardal Northern.

In their reasons for resignationl Llandrindod state: “Last season was a very difficult season both on and off the pitch for us, as a result a number of first team players have departed, as well as numerous resignations from our committee.

“This preseason despite attempting to sign over 60 players we’ve failed to attract any new signings to join the club and have had to cancel 2 of the 3 pre season fixtures we arranged as a result of not having enough players available.”

Llandrindid Wells have been members of the Ardal Leagues since the Welsh pyramid was reorganised in 2021-22.

They began in Ardal South East in the opening season and have been in North East sunce 2022-23. Last season was their lowest finish – ending up fourth from bottom.

The club twice previously operated in the Tier 2 Cymru Alliance League – from 1994-95 to 1997-98 and in 2014-15,

They will now compete in Tier 5 – the Mid Wales South League – in 2026-27.
