Llanelwy made it nine straight wins in North Wales Coast East Division One with a 6-3 result at Llysfaen.

Sandy Malone’s second-place side are now just four points behind leaders Cerrigydrudion with five matches in hand.

Jake Twist gave Llysfaen an early lead, but Dan Price and Liam Rowland-Jones hit back to put Llanelwy in front before half time.

Price made it 3-1 early in the second half, but the hosts were not giving up and Shaun Davies reduced the deficit to one again.

The unbeaten side upped the ante and moved 5-2 in front courtesy of goals from Steven Kirk and Joel Rowlands.

Connor Morris responded with a penalty, but Matty Lewis had the last word with Llanelwy’s sixth.

Winning boss Malone said: “Llysfaen are a tough side to play against, definitely one of the most solid defensive teams we’ve played, let alone a danger going forward. The scoreline reflects on our clinical finishing as a team – we are spot on at scoring.

“Nine wins out of nine in the league, but we still have it all to do and we still need to keep building on these games.

“Each game is a must win for us and we will do what is required on the training field to make it a reality we are going to challenge for this league title.”

Rhos made it three wins on the bounce with a nap-hand success.

The hosts were frustrated by the visitors for much of the first half, but then in the 42nd minute came the breakthrough.

After some beautiful quick football from defence through to midfield, Adam Noble made a run down the line before delivering superbly to the back post where an unmarked Lewis Sealey slotted home.

Seven minutes into the second half, a long throw from Sealey was headed into the net at the near stick by Ben Wheeler.

The next two goals came from the penalty spot. The first was won by Phemmy Allison and put away by Matt Christie. The second was earned by substitute Sam Keane and finished by Noble on the rebound after a good save from the goalkeeper.

In the 87th minute debutant Conrad Thomson picked the ball up in midfield and played a through ball for Noble, who finished well.

Abergele 2 CPD Cerrigydrudion 2

A full-blooded contest between these high flyers ended all-square with both teams down to 10 men at the finish.

Greg Hilditch put Abergele ahead from the penalty spot on 20 minutes.

Cerrig’s Nidian Jones was red carded on 25 minutes, but the numbers were evened up when Gele’s Liam Roberts was dismissed after 35.

Robert Parry levelled for the visitors in the 43rd minute , then Tirion Griffiths put Cerrig 2-1 up on 61.

James Hay ensured it ended in a draw when he notched Abergele’s second goal in the 75th minute.

Llandudno Amateurs 14 Betws-y-Coed 0

Mike Chapman netted five, Chris Smyth a hat-trick, Luke Nichols a double and there was one apiece from Joe Jones, Kyle Johnson, Sam Maddock and Lucas Hughes as Llandudno Amateurs ran riot against struggling Betws.

Just the one goal from Dean Hughes after 27 minutes was enough to seal fifth-place Rhyl Dragons three points against Penrhyn Bay.
