Jamie Petrie becomes first Bangor 1876 player to reach 50 goals

Jamie Petrie (red) made history for Bangor 1876 today

Jamie Petrie became the first Bangor 1876 player to reach the 50-goal landmark this afternoon.

Petrie’s seventh strike of the current campaign came in 1876’s 5-1 NWCFA Intermediate Cup victory over Llanfairfechan Town.

Having notched 43 goals in his debut season for the club, the 35-year-old is now up to a half-century in total.

We do not know exactly how many appearances the former Connah’s Quay Nomads and Bangor City player has made for 1876, but today was the club’s 50th competitive match, so not being an ever-present Petrie is averaging more than a goal-a-game.

Les Davies, who netted twice today, is now 1876’s second all-time highest scorer on 46 goals, one ahead of Dylan Summers-Jones, who scored 45 in 2019-20 and is now at Holyhead Hotspur of the Cymru North.

Congratulations Jamie!
