CPD Y Fali have made two new signings which manager Si Thomas hopes will help the team climb the North Wales Coast West Division One table.

Striker Luke Miles has returned to Park Mwd after a spell at Holyhead Town, while midfield ace Mike Murphy also switches from the Harbourmen to their near neighbours.

Miles, 30, began the season at Y Fali and scored five goals in his first six games before joining Holyhead in September.

He now hopes a return to Park Mwd will enable him to rekindle his hot streak of July and August.

Miles’ first match of the 2021-22 saw him grab a 90th minute winner against Llanfairpwll.

He then scored twice in a 3-1 win at Llangoed and District before also notching goals against Bodedern Athletic in the Welsh Cup and Llannerchymedd in the league.

Y Fali manager Thomas said: “I’m very happy to have Luke back with us.

“I was disappointed when he left but I had a chat with him and understood his reasons for leaving.
“I always told him he’s welcome back anytime so when he said he wanted to come back I wasted no time in getting it sorted.

“We know what he brings, he’s a goal scorer, a powerful presence up front but he’s also a great personality to have around the club and will help the young lads too.”

Murphy is one of five Holyhead footballing brothers.

A seaman/fisherman by trade, he was part of the successful Morawelon squad his brothers Sean, Nick, Jordie and Dale also represented from 2011-14.

Mike was also in the team which won the 2011/12 NWCFA Junior Cup.

More recently, the 30-year-old was with Holyhead Town and came on as a substitute in their 5-1 win over Bethesda Rovers last month.

He is a strong midfielder who is comfortable playing in defence too.

“I’m delighted to sign Mike,” added Si Thomas. “His experience will be of great benefit to the club.”

Y Fali are currently third-from-bottom and have not won a league game since July, but their last two results have been very encouraging – a 2-2 draw at CPD Cefni and a 4-4 split at Mountain Rangers.
