Troubled Bangor City have been fined £1,000 and had three points deducted after the FAW postponed the club’s JD Cymru North clash versus Buckley Town scheduled for this Saturday.
The FAW National League Board announced the decision this afternoon.
The Football Association of Wales confirmed on Tuesday that Bangor had been suspended from all football-related activity following their non-compliance with a Disciplinary Panel order to pay off outstanding salaries believed to total more than £50,000.
A suspension from all football-related activity prohibits the club from any involvement in football, which includes football matches played in a competition and/or at a ground under the jurisdiction of the FAW.
The Board made the decision today to postpone Saturday’s match, to provide Buckley Town with 48 hours’ notice, to avoid any unnecessary costs and further inconvenience.
Furthermore, in accordance with League Rule 3.7 the Board have fined Bangor City FC £1,000 (£500 suspended) and deducted three points from their league total for their failure to play the fixture.
