North East Wales Mike Beech Memorial Cup – Ethan Snell and Barry Torrence both score six, Quay upset Chirk

Barry Torrence scored six goals for FC Queen’s Park

Group G of the North East Wales Football League Mike Beech Memorial Cup featured two players scoring six goals in separate matches.

Ethan Snell hit a double hat-trick for Brymbo Lodge in their 7-0 triumph over Coedpoeth United Reserves, Levi Andrews adding the other goal.

Meanwhile, Barry Torrence also found the net six times for FC Queen’s Park in their 9-0 demolition of Bellevue.

Torrence bagged five of his goals in the first half. Also on target for the Park was Charlie Jones with a treble.

GROUP A

David Hughes and Kady Seabroook both scored four in Coedpoeth United’s 11-2 thrashing of Caerwys Reserves.

Jack Pawley, Luke Hall and Curtis Griffiths added singles for the winners, Jordan Waite and David Jones replying.

Ruabon Rovers and Halkyn & Flint Mountain played out a 1-1 draw.

Lee Price put Rovers ahead with a penalty on 68, but Aled Reece equalised a minute later.

GROUP B

Robert Negru and Daniel Calvert scored in the closing minutes as Greenfield struggled to get past Mynydd Isa Spartans Reserves 2-0.

Postponed – Overton Recreational v Penyffordd Lions.

GROUP C

Connah’s Quay Town of Division One sprang a surprise with a 1-0 win at Premier leaders Chirk Town.

John Leonard bagged the winner after eight minutes.

Ruthin Town Colts outscored FC United of Wrexham 4-2, Oliver Derosa, Daniel Dolben, Elgan Hughes and Huw Lloyd with the goals.

GROUP D

Benjamin Bailey, Daniel Woosey, Louis Pritchard and Harry Brown netted one goal apiece for Castell Alun Colts in a 4-1 success at Caerwys, Lewis Harrison replying.

Lex XI Reserves did well to hold Cefn Mawr Rangers 2-2.

Reece Jones and a 92nd minute leveller from Kyle Jarvis ensured the Lawmen finished level, Ryan Harden and Michael Price for the visitors.

GROUP E

Jordan Walker pocketed a hat-trick as Mynydd Isa Spartans blitzed Llay Welfare Colts 9-0.

Kallum Pierce and Harvey McGrail added a double each, Michael Fleetwood and Jack Aitken with the others.

Thomas Bridges, Louis Anglesea, Alister Taylor and Aaron North found the net in Hawarden Rangers’ 4-0 beating of Railway Rovers.

GROUP F

Kieran Jones and man of the match Scott Davies both delivered trebles in New Brighton Villa’s 13-0 hammering of Castell Alun Colts Reserves.

Jarod Jones and Aaron Davies both scored twice, Kris Turner, Grant Spenser and Kai Oldfield the rest.

MoM Davies also contributed four assists.

Ben Hughes scored the only goal as CPD Sychdyn triumphed 1-0 at Llangollen Town.

Borras Park Albion saw off Llangollen Town Reserves 5-0, Lewis Evans (2), Joseph Davies, Stephen Berry (pen) and Oliver Scarsbrook (pen) sharing the goals.

Alex Palmer and Ramone Nelson nabbed the goals which sealed Lex XI a 2-0 verdict at FC Queen’s Park Reserves.
