Emily Jones and Sade Benjamin both scored hat-tricks for an NFA side which had too much firepower for their Anglesey visitors.

The Rhyl hosts had the game wrapped up at half time with a 5-0 lead, but Llangefni were much improved in the second 45 minutes, a missed penalty costing them what would have been a deserved consolation goal.

Jess Marshall in the Cefni goal did well to block at the feet of Emily Jones in the early stages, but it was not long before the home team were ahead.

In the eighth minute Georgia Spibey fed a low corner from the right to the edge of the box, where Stella Windsor slid a neat pass into Jones, who turned and lashed into the roof of the net.

Seconds later it was 2-0 when Jones turned provider with a lovely pass which released Windsor to score in a one-on-one with the keeper.

Marshall saved bravely from Jones before Amy Chesters’ effort from a corner was blocked on the line and Jones blasted over the loose ball.

Jones missed narrowly again, but after a difficult opening 15 minutes for the islanders they began to settle and the chances dried up for NFA.

Sade Benjamin (left) notched a brilliant hat-trick for NFA

That was until the 37th minute when Benjamin came off best in a strong challenge on the edge of the penalty box and beautifully chipped the keeper to make it 3-0.

Spibey saw a shot headed off the line, Chesters headed against the post and impressive sub Libby McClelland’s firm strike was well held by Marshall.

A fourth goal was inevitable, though, and on 42 minutes Jones threaded a pinpoint delivery to Benjamin, who finished superbly.

Then in added time, Windsor crossed low from the left byline and Emily Jones fired in off the post with the classiest of finishes via the outside of her foot.

Half-time: 5-0

Three minutes into the second half, NFA were awarded a penalty for handball.

Jones completed her hat-trick from the spot, even though substitute keeper Sharlee Owen got firm hands to the shot.

In the 53rd minute Benjamin won a race to the ball in the box and stabbed past Owen to make it a personal treble.

Throw-in star Georgia Spibey had another fine game for NFA

From there, Cefni raised their game, with substitute Jen Cox making them more effective in attack.

Cox had a run through on goal, but keeper Yasmin Mills saved courageously at her feet.

Town also earned a penalty for an alleged foul in the box, but after much toing and froing with the placement of the ball, Sian Morgan-Price blasted wide.

Numerous other chances came NFA’s way, Megan Pursell hitting the bar from long range, while Chesters and substitute Rebekah Hansen missed good opportunities.
