Now in his fifth season with Caernarfon Town, local lad Ryan Williams is a confirmed Cofi Army favourite.

So there will be plenty of good wishes flying around when Ryan celebrates his 23rd birthday today.

Born on October 7, 1998, Ryan was signed for the Canaries from Wrexham by then manager Iwan Williams during the summer of 2017.

He had been a regular for Wrexham’s under-18 side and was considered by many at the club unfortunate not to earn a full-time contract, with injuries affecting his time at the Racecourse.

Ryan was unlucky to miss the final quarter of Caernarfon’s Cymru Alliance League winning campaign of 2017/18 but did enough during the first three-quarters of the season to establish himself as a key member of Sean Eardley’s squad.

Wrexham’s loss has turned into the Canaries gain, as Ryan has been a virtual ever-present since Town returned to the Cymru Premier in 2018-19.

He has made a total of 104 starts for the Cofis, as well as featuring as a substitute 13 times, and has scored two goals.

Ryan has been on the mark this season for Huw Griffiths’ side, netting with a superb header in the recent 3-0 Welsh Cup win over Prestatyn Town.

One of Ryan’s biggest assets is his versatility, as he can be equally effective in midfield or at the back.

Penblwydd hapus Ryan – have a great day.
