New manager takes over at Anglesey-based Valley Football Club – CPD Y Fali

Si Thomas is the new manager of CPD Y Fali

Anglesey-based CPD Y Fali have appointed a new first-team manager.

Si Thomas, previously assistant-boss, has taken over the reins from Dan Jones at the North Wales Coast West Division One club.

Y Fali started the season very well, and although form has dipped over the past few weeks, it is hoped a new face at the helm may help boost fortunes.

A club statement said: “Manager Dan Jones will be taking a step back from managing the team to take up a role where he can focus more of his time behind the scenes.
“Assistant-manager Si Thomas will now be stepping up to take on the role as manager.”

Si comes from good management stock as dad Derek is a former boss of Morawelon, Holyhead Town and Trearddur Bay Bulls.

Former Morawelon player Si has had coaching spells with Caergybi, Holyhead Town, Llandegfan and Trearddur Bay Bulls.

CPD Y Fali’s very existence was in doubt just a few months ago as there were not enough people on board to run the club.

But a determined community effort turned things around and now they are on a much firmer footing.

Having a young and enthusiastic new manager guiding them will hopefully lead to more progression.
