CPD Y Fali turn tables and prepare for 2021-22 season

CPD Y Fali team line up from December 2020

Good news on the Anglesey football front – CPD Y Fali are set to compete in the 2021-22 season.

Three weeks ago the club revealed they were in danger of folding due to a lack of officials to run it.

However, a lot of work behind the scenes to recruit fresh blood and a marvellous community response looks to be paying dividends.

And the management team are building up a decent squad of players.

The club announced on social media today: “We would like to announce that we as a club are finally in a position to move forward and compete in the new season ahead.

“After our original post three weeks ago reaching out for help in the running of the club and also looking for new players we have been overwhelmed with the support from the new and existing players and other wishing to help the club in any way possible.

“We would like to thank everyone and we look forward to July 3rd where we kick off our season at home to Llanfairpwll.”

Valley today announced Si Thomas has joined as assistant-manager to Dan Jones.

Thomas was part of the management set-up at Trearddur Bay Bulls, who unfortunately resigned ahead of the 2021-22 season last week, although they have vowed to return in 2022-23.

Y Fali have also signed goalkeeper Sammie Williams from the former Llandegfan FC and midfielder Mark Hamblin.

Other new faces will follow.

It has been a tough pre-season for Anglesey football so far, with Bro Goronwy, Llandegfan and Trearddur Bay Bulls all announcing they were taking a break from the game.

Arriva Bangor also confirmed today they were dropping out for the season ahead.

That makes two North Wales Coast West Premier Division sides and the same number of North Wales Coast West Division One teams to withdraw so far ahead of next month’s kick-off.
