A fourth straight league win lifted Llandudno up to third in Cymru North and delighted manager Sean Eardley.

The Seasiders bounced back from the disappointment of their Welsh Cup exit to Airbus at the weekend by scooping three crucial points at Maesdu Park on Tuesday. Tudno are now unbeaten in seven in the league.

“It was a big, big fixture,” said Eardley. “Gresford are a good side, they’ll get good results as the season goes on.

“I can’t fault my players, I thought we carried on where we left off against Airbus. Second half we were excellent against them, and in the first half tonight, the energy, the intensity, the chances we created….about six in the first 20 minutes.

“The longer the game goes 0-0 the more you’re looking at your experienced players to make sure we don’t concede.

“The game management was brilliant, the match was entertaining for the neutral, plenty of chances, plenty of incidents and a big three points.”

The match was settled by an 81st minute penalty from Shaun Cavanagh – his sixth goal of the season.
