Happy birthday to CPD Merched Bethel attacking midfielder Angharad Evans – 20 today.

Born on August 4, 2001, the talented youngster hails from Gaerwen on Anglesey.

Football-mad Angharad played for Llangefni under-11’s, Llangefni girls U-12’s, then Bangor City U-14’s and U-16’s before stepping up to senior level with Bangor City Ladies in 2017-18.

She joined Bethesda Athletic in 2018-19 and was part of the squad which won the North Wales Women’s League Division Two title undefeated at the first attempt.

When Bethesda folded early the following season, Angharad was welcomed at Bethel, where she has played ever since.

In summer 2019, Angharad was in the Ynys Môn women’s squad which surpassed all expectations by winning a silver medal at the Inter-Island Games.

There is another girl in the Evans family shaping up nicely as a footballer.

Angharad’s younger sister Gwenllian recently won the Manager’s Player of the Season award with her club.

The sisters occasionally put up videos on social media of them practising their football skills.

Away from the football field, Angharad likes the music of pop acts like Harry Styles and Little Mix.

CPD Merched Bethel manager Ben Bolton rates Angharad highly: “She has a good range of passing, and her touch on the ball is good, her movement and positioning is good. Her only weakness is her physicality,” he said.
