NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE – REPORTS SATURDAY, JULY 31
PREMIER DIVISION
CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 4 Gwalchmai 1
Despite his team enjoying a clear win, Penrhyndeudraeth manager Iwan Williams was not overly pleased with the performance.
Leading 2-0 through early goals from Iddon Price and Jack Davis, the hosts conceded before half time when Nathan Sinnott struck for battling Gwalchmai.
Unfortunately for the visitors, they had Sam Jones red-carded close to the interval.
This meant the islanders playing the entire second half with 10 men, but they far from lay down and made Penrhyn work for their match-clinching goals via Tomos Smith and Richard Jones.
Winning boss Williams said: “I wasn’t best pleased with the performance throughout in all honesty.
“However, you do have to take the amount of injuries we have into account. I will always back my players though so to come away with a 4-1 win is credit to them as we have shown we can win convincingly whilst not playing well.
“I have to say, Gwalchmai I thought were outstanding throughout. Their work ethic and never say die attitude was brilliant to watch. If it wasn’t for our quality, we would have been in trouble.
“Thankfully we now have a week to prepare for our massive FAW Trophy game at home against Nefyn. I had planned to give the squad time off and only train on Friday given our injury struggles but the players collectively agreed to also come in on Wednesday to work on things which is testament to the attitude of the group we have as I’m a big believer in the saying, ‘the harder you work, the luckier you get!’
“We will also now welcome new signing Chris Parry into our squad with one, maybe two experienced signings to be announced imminently which will no doubt bolster our squad.”
Pwllheli 11 Gaerwen 0
Steffan Toplis hit four goals as Pwllheli went on the rampage in an 11-0 caning of visitors Gaerwen.
Lukas Baltovic and Jordy Woods added doubles, while there was one apiece for Martyn Smith, Jac Williams and Robin Hicks.
It was not the best of debuts for new Gaerwen managers Vinny Walker and Spud Thomas. Hopefully things can improve for them.
Nefyn United 4 CPD Llanberis 1
After four straight wins Nefyn sit proudly top of the North Wales Coast West Premier Division.
Their latest success was a 4-1 victory over Llanberis at Cae’r Delyn on Saturday.
Carl Jones and Dafydd Gwyn Jones struck in the first half, then Dylan Sion Jones converted a penalty three minutes into the second period.
A 74th minute Ben Jones own goal made up the Penwaig’s tally, Cai Holdsworth with a late response for the Darans.
CPD Pentraeth P v Glantraeth P (Covid)

Tom Kelly, Ryan Wood, Mark Jones, Gavin Sharpe and Gethin Davies grabbed a goal apiece for the visitors, Mark Hamblin and Luke Miles responding for the hosts.
Louis Chapman’s 12th goal of the season was not enough to earn Caergybi all three points from their tricky trip to Talysarn Celts.
Chapman put Dale Moffat’s men one-up from the spot, but Jac Jones hit back with a penalty to secure Celts a 1-1 draw.

Two first-half goals from Oluwaseun Oki set up Llangoed for a superb 3-1 victory at Holyhead Town.
