REPORTS

Bangor 1876 9
Pentraeth 0

Les Davies began the season in typical fashion with a hat-trick as Bangor 1876 romped to a nine-goal victory over Pentraeth at Treborth.

The opener arrived on 12 minutes.

Neat interplay between Shaun Lock and Chris Jones on the left resulted in the ball being played across the face of goal for Jamie Petrie to open his and 1876’s account.

Midway through the opening period, Petrie was forced off due to injury and his replacement Gethin Thomas did not take long to make an impact.

He doubled 1876’s lead after 34 minutes when he managed to create space 25 yards out before firing a powerful right-footed shot into the top left-hand corner.

Four minutes later, Davies headed in a Lock cross at the back post.

Six minutes into the second period, Chris Jones scored the fourth from the edge of the box with a composed finish at the second attempt after visiting goalkeeper Goodman miss-kicked the ball into his path.

As the hour mark approached, 1876 boss Dylan Williams made a triple substitution. He brought off his namesake midfielder Dylan Williams along with Lock and Sam Roberts and replaced them with Cameron Barry, Aaron Heald and Ben Owen.

Within two minutes of the change, midfielder Barry made the score 5-0 with a well-placed left-footed shot.

Davies soon added his second with a powerful left-footer from the left-hand side of the area.

Chris Jones made it 7-0 with 10 minutes remaining after Davies flicked on a pass from Joe Culshaw.

Thomas scored his second and 1876’s eighth from the edge of the box with a minute of normal time left.

Goal number nine arrived in injury time as the Pentraeth defence were again caught in possession as 1876 pressed the ball high up the pitch. This allowed Davies to complete his hat-trick.

Amlwch Town 2 Pwllheli 4

Pwllheli took the honours in a six-goal cracker on Anglesey.

Lukas Baltovic edged the Llyn side ahead on 13 minutes before Jordan Edney levelled straight from a corner.

Goals from Rhys Williams (65 min) and Jason Banks (72) then put Pwllheli in command, but Liam Billington’s great strike from outside the box pulled Amlwch back in it.

The visitors sealed the points when Steffan Toplis netted via an 82nd minute penalty.

Gaerwen 0 Nefyn United 5

Nefyn proved far too strong for their Anglesey hosts at Lon Groes.

Ifan Jones struck twice in the first half before Steven Jones and Daniel Roberts increased the lead to 4-0 at the break.

Eight minutes from the end, Gethin Trenholme added a fifth for the Penwaig.

Llanberis 2 Llanrug United 3

Sion Phillips scored three minutes from time to seal Llanrug the three points from a thrilling derby at Ffordd Padarn.

Jonathan Sadler’s penalty was all that separated the sides at half time.

Arwyn Price levelled on 51 minutes, Michael Owen restored the United lead after 54, but Cal Macdonald made it all square on 69.

It looked like a draw was on the cards before Phillips grabbed the decider.
