Airbus save the day by offering Gresford Athletic temporary home

Gresford Athletic will be playing home games at The Hollingsworth Group Stadium for a portion of the 2021/22 season, ground-sharing with Airbus UK Broughton.
The Wrexham area club found their permanent base Clappers Lane is proving quite difficult to implement the requirements to be COVID-19 complaint, which means hosting home games for a part of the coming season would have been a struggle.
Fellow JD Cymru North club Airbus have provided a very much appreciated lifeline, allowing the two clubs to ground-share at The Hollingsworth Group Stadium in Broughton.
The move will be for at least the first four home games of the 2021/22 season, with a potential for it to be extended, depending on COVID-19 restrictions.
A Gresford statement said: “We want to give a massive thank you to Airbus UK Broughton and the Football Association of Wales for their assistance with the ground-share.
“Without their help, it would have been very difficult for us to play at home for some of the 2021/22 season with the required COVID-19 regulations.
“We are extremely grateful for their willingness, generosity and trust for us to use their facilities during these difficult times.
“The move is simply to allow the club to play COVID-19 compliant home games during the 2021/22 season.”
