Meet the top two run scorers in the North Wales Cricket League.
Seventeen-year-old Ewan Hill (pictured right) and Isaac Allen, 18, are currently sitting one-two in the league’s run charts.
Ewan has amassed 384 runs so far, having missed out on being the league’s top run-getter in 2019 by two.
Isaac has enjoyed a stellar start to his season, notching up 2 tons already and is only 3 runs behind on 381.
Both batsmen are products of the Mold Cricket Club junior set up and are now finding their feet in the senior game.
They will tell you it’s their talent, they might even point out it’s because they use the same bat maker @WoodstockCricCo.
Andrew Evans, groundsman at Mold, will tell you it’s because of the quality of the wickets he’s producing!
Whatever it is the lads are doing something right. Both will be taking on Dolgellau 1st XI at the weekend as Mold look to bounce back from consecutive league defeats in Division One, although they did boost the confidence by reaching the Flintshire Knockout final in midweek.
