Cefn Druids 0
Caernarfon Town 7 (Breese 3, C Williams 2, Craig 2)
Cymru Alliance – April 30, 2016
While an awesome seven-goal salvo from Caernarfon should have been the main focus of a game played on this date five years ago, an unsavoury incident in the closing stages unfortunately made all the headlines.
Town were already 7-0 up when a Druids player was sent off in the final minute.
As the player left the field, fighting broke out among spectators and the police became involved.
The brawl ended up featured in the national newspapers.
All this took the gloss of what should have been a great day for Caernarfon, who sealed the Cymru Alliance League title in the most convincing fashion by thrashing their main rivals.
Sadly for the Canaries, they were unable to go up to the Welsh Premier League after failing to gain a domestic licence.
There was some consolation in the fact they destroyed Druids through a Jamie Breese hat-trick, plus two goals apiece from Clive Williams and Nathan Craig. That treble put Breese on 26 goals for the season.
More than 200 Caernarfon supporters were there to witness their team clinch the championship in ruthless fashion
Although Town won the title by nine points, second-place Druids were promoted as they met the licence criteria.
