FOOTBALL

Teams you have played for

Bontnewydd Juniors, Caernarfon Town, Mountain Rangers

Position

Centre-back

Most memorable game played in

It has to be the U16 Welsh Cup Final for Caernarfon Girls. The 2013/2014 season was a massive achievement for the team – we won the league, the league cup, the Darwin Cup and the Welsh Cup for U16s . The Welsh Cup Final was such an important one – we played Llanyrafon Ladies at Newtown and won 2-0.

Biggest highlight of football career so far

Being involved with Wales Development Squad

Best goal scored

In the semi-final of the Welsh Cup. In normal play time we were losing 3-2 and with only minutes left on the clock we were awarded a corner. I stood at the top of the centre circle just in case the opposition had a counter attack but the ball came out and I gave it a volley and it hit the top corner from 40 yards.

Strengths to your game

I feel that I have the skills to read the game and communicate with other players therefore I can adopt the leadership role of holding the back-four line. I believe that I’m a very versatile player that feels comfortable attacking or defending. I feel like I’ve been playing football forever and I’ve developed the skills and knowledge to nurture younger players.

Weaknesses:

I can get a bit hot-headed at times!

Who will you play for this season?

Bangor 1876

How do you think they might do?

We’re aiming to win the League, we’ve got a great group of girls and motivated coaches. We had a really good pre-season before another lockdown put a stop to it all.

Heledd lines up with Bangor University

Most memorable game played in

Can I say the whole season for Bangor Uni? The most memorable game has to be the semi final of the BUCS Cup against Keele, making the first women’s rugby team to make it through to the final.

Biggest highlight so far

Being the only girl playing for the North Wales team when I was younger.

Best try scored

I scored a few whilst playing for Bangor Uni – but the try at the semi finals in Keele, it helped to settle the team and push on to win the game.

Strengths to your game

I’d say i’m a good ball carrier and I can kick!

Weaknesses

I sometimes panic and kick when I don’t need to.
