The FAW’s National Leagues Board have confirmed there will be no promotion and relegation into and from the JD Cymru Premier at the end of this season.
Following the cancellation of the JD Cymru South and North season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been announced that, as the only active league within the men’s pyramid, no-one will go down from the JD Cymru Premier in the current campaign.
All 12 current JD Cymru Premier clubs successfully achieved the Tier 1 License for the 2021/22 season when the First Instance Body met last week.
This weekend’s previews
Meanwhile, there is plenty of action to look forward to on Matchdays 25 of the 2020-21 Cymru Premier campaign this weekend.
In the Play-Off Conference this evening (Friday), Flint Town United will be going all out to build on back-to-back wins when they visit Aberystwyth (7.45 pm).
Neil Gibson’s side were in awesome midweek form when they hammered Cefn Druids 5-0 at the Essity Stadium.
Joint-leaders of the Championship Conference, The New Saints and Connah’s Quay Nomads will aim to maintain the stunning form shown in their last games.
Champions Nomads, who triumphed 6-1 at Caernarfon Town on Tuesday, host Barry Town United, battered 6-0 at home by TNS on the same evening.
Meanwhile TNS, top of the rankings on goal difference, are home to ever-impressive Penybont in the live TV game.
Rhys Griffiths’s side have already won at Nomads this season, inflicting a first home league loss on Andy Morrison’s men at Deeside Stadium in two years.
Bala Town will be out for revenge when they welcome a Caernarfon side which pipped them 2-1 in a first phase encounter at Maes Tegid last month.
Druids might fancy their chances of bouncing back when they entertain a Cardiff Met outfit without a win in 10.
