Aberystwyth Town 0
Flint Town United 1 (Josh Amis 73)
JD Cymru Premier – April 16, 2021
Josh Amis grabbed the all-important goal which secured a third league win on the bounce for Neil Gibson’s Flint side.
Following a 2-0 victory against Cardiff Met and a 5-0 whipping of Cefn Druids in midweek, the Silkmen kept another clean sheet this evening.
Amis posed an early threat for the visitors with a run into the box, but his low shot was kept out by Connor Roberts.
Soon after Aber defender Lee Jenkins did well to clear a Conor Harwood effort off the line.
The biggest chance of the half fell on the half hour mark. Ben Maher and Callum Bratley linked up well down the right, and the latter broke into the box only to see his attempt saved low down by Roberts.
On the stroke of half time, some good work on the right hand side ended with a cross to the back post. Harwood was lurking but his shot was blazed over the bar.
Cadwallader missed a good opening for the away side after the interval and a Maher free kick went close before the deadlock was broken on 73 minutes.
Amis latched onto a Harwood flick-on near the halfway line. The big striker showed strength and speed to evade the chasing defenders before sliding the ball into the far corner,
A superb late save from Jon Rushton via a Jonathan Evans strike denied the hosts an equaliser.
