Connah’s Quay Nomads star Michael Wilde is one goal away from becoming only the fourth player in Cymru Premier history to reach the 200 mark.
The 37-year-old veteran forward landed on 199 after his late back-headed winner for Nomads at Flint Town United on Tuesday night. He has notched 153 CPL goals for The New Saints and 46 for Connah’s Quay.
That made it 11 goals this season for the former TNS and Chester front man.
If Wilde makes it to 200, he will become one of an elite band of four elite sharp-shooters who have hit the milestone since the league was formed in 1992.
Marc Lloyd Williams is on 319, Penybont player-manager Rhys Griffiths has 271 and Lee Hunt’s total is 209.
Also closing in on 200 goals and still playing in the league are this season’s 15-goal top marksman Chris Venables (192) and TNS’s all-time record hitman Greg Draper (164).
Wilde could chalk up the double century when Cymru Premier leaders and champions Nomads visit Penybont this Saturday (March 13).
