Happy birthday to you Chloe Evans of NFA !

Chloe sure knows how to throw a party

She’s 18 today and has a promising football career ahead of her.

Chloe Evans began to make her mark last season as a right-back for Rhyl-based women’s side NFA.

The newly-formed team entered North Wales Women’s League Division Two in 2019-20 and finished up third with six wins from nine matches.

Chloe (front row – second from right with cup) with NFA team mates including Llinos Hughes and Abi Bradley (third and fourth back row)

Chloe was part of an ever-improving defence which included the likes of Llinos Hughes, Jessica Mills and Abi Bradley, as well as outstanding goalkeeper Yasmin Mills and occasional stand-in Amy Webster (who was also joint top-scoring striker).

With a busy style of playing, always willing to get stuck in and race forward and join the attack, Chloe was a real asset to the squad.

Born on March 1, 2003, Chloe Fay Evans is not the only member of her family celebrating a birthday today.

Brother Dan is also blowing out the candles on St David’s Day and many people reading this will know all about him.

Dan Evans (front row – second left) celebrates winning the Cymru Alliance with Prestatyn in 2007-08

Dan is a former Prestatyn Town player who was part of their Cymru Alliance title-winning side of 2007-08 and represented the Seasiders in the Welsh Premier League.

While Dan was more of an attacking player than his sister, both operate down the right at pace.

I remember Dan, 34 today, as a fresh-faced young teenager, but these days he has a serious beard and works as a clinical exercise physiologist. Top man with a sense of humour in the same weird ballpark as mine. 😂😂😂

Anyway, back to Chloe, whose first football memory is playing for a team called Hearts Divas.

Her most memorable game to date in an NFA shirt is beating previously undefeated Mountain Rangers 2-1 at Rhyl Leisure Centre pitch last season.

She is very proud at having been selected for Wales trials and believes her biggest strength as a footballer is her pace. The left foot needs working on, she thinks.

Chloe again

Chloe regards Emily Jones as the best team-mate she has played alongside and rates Amlwch Town as her toughest opponent to date.

She thinks Rachel Lloyd is a great dancer and that Amy Webster is the funniest player at NFA. 🤣🤣🤣 🙆‍♀️👸

Chloe, who has six siblings, also has fond memories of winning the SCI tournament with Hearts Divas in her first season of playing.

With no competitive football at all played this season, Chloe, like every other player is hoping for better luck in 2021-22.

In the meantime, have a fantastic birthday Chloe and Dan.
