Bala Town’s superb start to the season continued with a 2-0 victory at Newtown.

The Lakesiders struck first right on the break when Will Evans’ powerful header was tipped onto the bar by David Jones, but Nathan Peate nodded home the rebound.

The points were sealed in the 85th minute when a sublime delivery to the back post by substitute Ryan Pryce was headed in by CPL top scorer Chris Venables for his ninth goal of the season.

Champions Connah’s Quay Nomads had defender John Disney controversially sent off in the second minute at Barry Town United.

Despite having to play almost the entire contest with 10 men, however, Andy Morrison’s side came away with a creditable 0-0 draw in a game where they created the better chances.

Bottom side Cefn Druids’ concerns continued as they went down 2-0 at home to early high-flyers Penybont, Kane Owen (pen) and Mael Davies on target.

Flint Town United are next-to-bottom following a 2-1 loss at Cardiff Met University.

A stunning long range daisy cutter from Dylan Rees made it 1-0 to the students early in the second half, and not long after a lovely three-man move ended with Oliver Hulbert doubling the advantage.

Callum Bratley’s reply, a 72nd minute header from a corner, was not enough to save the Silkmen.

Caernarfon Town were denied a cracking win at Haverfordwest County when the home side’s Daniel Williams bagged an equaliser four minutes into added time to force a 1-1 draw.

Mike Hayes had edged the Cofis ahead in the 76th minute.

Friday night saw The New Saints’ 100% record ended by a 2-2 draw at Aberystwyth Town.

Louis Robles handed Saints a half time lead, but Jonathan Foligno and Steff Davies turned things round in Aber’s favour before Ben Clarke’s 83rd minute leveller salvaged a point for the leaders.
