People often complain – with some justification – that there is no good news around any more, but a very happy story has emerged today from the world of North Wales football.

Bala Town Football Club are thrilled to announce that midfielder Danny Gosset will be staying with the Lakesiders for the 2020/21 season.

Danny spent last season on the sidelines due to his diagnosis with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and was given the all-clear back in January.

Last week Danny was given further good news as the break in his femur has now completely healed and he is now had the go-ahead to restart training.

Manager Colin Caton spoke of his delight about Danny’s news.

“Danny Gosset has had the all-clear after having a scan and speaking to his specialist at Gobowen Hospital last week,” said Caton.

“As he’s had this tremendous news, he can now resume normal training, however because his leg has been out of use for so long he’s got to get the rehab back into his femur.

“He’s got to build his leg muscle up and he’s hoping to be competitive once the pre-season games are here. However, if he doesn’t make the first pre-season games he’ll definitely, all being well, be fit for the start of the season which will be a massive relief for everybody concerned.

“The muscles have grown back well and it’s brilliant to have him back. Everybody has stuck by him, his strength and his belief carried the lads to such a good season as well.

“We all had a great bond and it’s fantastic to have him with us and it’s going to be like having a brand new signing. It’s great that he’s going to be available for this season. I can’t wait to work with him again and I am really looking forward to that.

“I’m expecting big things from Danny and what a story it’s going to be when he gets back out on that pitch!”

Danny began his career with Oldham Athletic, making two Football League appearances before a spell on loan with Stockport County.

He has also played for Wales at C level as well as representing The New Saints, Bangor City, Cefn Druids, Rhyl and Bala Town in the Welsh Premier.
