North East Wales League: Brymbo Victoria still top, Chirk Town back to winning ways


Brymbo Victoria held onto top spot in the Top Mark Uniforms North East Wales League with a 3-0 home beating of Acton.
Paul Messham, Finley Dyer and Luke Peters were the home hitmen.
Chirk Town returned to winning ways with a 1-0 success at a Sychdyn side which beat them by the same score last month.
Shaun Morris’ fourth-minute strike was enough to seal the points for the second-place Taverners.
Ryan Jones and Elgan Hughes scored two apiece as Caerwys knocked Borras Park Albion out of the Mike Beech Memorial Trophy at the preliminary round two stage by a 4-2 margin, Jack Hanley and Dan Jones on the mark for the visitors, who trailed just 3-2 at the break.
In the Top Mark Uniforms Premier Cup preliminary round two, Penyffordd Lions eliminated Mold Town United 4-2, Nathan Lavender, Ben Hughes, Liam Williams and Dan Lee for the winners, Terry Nicholas and Aaron North for the losing side.
