Meet the Player: Sean Sheridan (Llysfaen FC)

Sean Sheridan, 23, is a key man in Llysfaen Football Club‘s rise to prominence in Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Division One this season.

This season has seen Sean score 31 goals in 19 games including friendlies; 21 in the league in 11 games, 5 friendly goals and 5 cup goals and 13 assists in total. He has grabbed two hat-tricks and scored four goals in a game twice.

And he is now filling a vital dual role at the club as he is coach of the Llysfaen Lionesses ladies recreational football side.

How do you feel the current season is going for Llysfaen?

Llysfaen FC squad

Season is going very well, going from strength too strength.

Why do you feel the team has improved so much this season?

All the lads in the squad are comfortable playing alongside their mates and there is good banter throughout.

What do you think the team is capable of achieving?

I think the team is capable this season of lifting two cups and becoming a competitive team for the league above.

What do you think of the standard of Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Division One?

It’s an average division with some class players in it which could be at higher levels, also got players that have been ace in their time but dropped due to injury. Good for the youngsters too, getting an idea of playing with the older lads.

What honours have you won in the game?

Won the league cup with Colwyn Bay, achieved a few medals/trophies here and there.

Best game ever played in?

Colwyn Bay v Denbigh – cup final. It was 2014/15. Colwyn Bay Reserves came from behind to win the first-ever Welsh Alliance Reserve League Cup final 2-1 against Denbigh Town at Rhyl. Bay team: Gaz Rees, Ash Seddon (Ben Roberts), David Algieri, Josh Graham, Fabian Ellis (c), Dewi Algiieri, Sean Sheridan, Will Frost, Damian Ketley, Marc Williams, Ryan Watson. Subs: Will Jones, Matt Sampson, Charlie Jones, Aaron Rickards.

Best team played so far this season?

For some reason Llandudno Amateurs Reserves is our bogey team so them

Strengths and weaknesses to your game?

Sean takes on a defender

Strengths – speed, wind up merchant; Weaknesses – love a challenge on a rainy day taking knee caps

What would you like to achieve in the game before you retire?

Score with a bicycle kick, win the quad with Llysfaen this season

Ibiza
