Scoring sensation Sheridan leaves Llysfaen and signs for Llanfairfechan Town

Llanfairfechan Town’s new manager Adam Parry has scooped what is sure to be one of the signings of the summer already.

Parry has secured the services of striker Sean Sheridan, a ruthless goal machine for last season’s Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One sensations Llysfaen.

Sheridan banged in 31 goals in just 18 outings for Robert Emlyn Jones’ side in the 2019-20 campaign, helping the Banana Field outfit finish runners-up, having not lost a single game and only missing out on the title by the narrowest of margins on points-per-game to NFA.

Llysfaen lost by 0.03 of a point having played a game less. Their goal difference was +11 better than the first-placed team.

Sheridan notched five hat-tricks in total over the season, including three four-goal hauls.

Parry took over as Llanfairfechan boss recently following Andrew Croston’s appointment as chairman of Llandudno.

“I’m really pleased to get Sean signed, he was one of our main targets for this summer and we’re looking forward to adding his pace and winning mentality to a good competitive squad that we have,” said Parry, who was assistant to Croston last season.

“We’d also like to thank Llysfaen for their co-operation with the transfer.”

Llysfaen made the following statement: “Everyone at the club would like to thank Shez for some terrific memories and wish him all the best in the future. He leaves as the highest scorer within the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy this season.”

Sheridan said on social media: “Had a cracking season with Llysfaen, wish them all the best and will still be up and supporting as much as I can. Some amazing memories, great crack on and off the pitch.

“Onto a new one now, all the best Emlyn Robert Jones and the fellas.”

On the plus side, Tom Collier is returning to Llysfaen for the 2020-21 season.

He has grown up playing for the club at all age groups including the seniors, amassing 78 senior appearances, scoring 19 goals in the process.

Collier said: “It’s an honour to be welcomed back into the club I’ve played for over 10 years of my career with, especially after such an incredible season.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved in the club for this opportunity and can’t wait to bring success to the village of Llysfaen.”
