Druids ended Nomads’ 16-match unbeaten streak in the Cymru Premier with a 2-0 victory at The Rock.

The sixth-placed Ancients made it seven wins in eight league outings after Cody Ruberto broke the deadlock a minute before half time, then Josef Faux ended the argument by scoring the second on 90.

JD Cymru North
Flint Town United 1 Colwyn Bay 2

Travelling to a Flint side second in the table, just two points off the lead and which knocked Cymru Premier giants Bala out of the Welsh Cup seven days earlier made this one tough prospect for the Bay.

And it looked even more difficult for the Seagulls when they went a goal down in just the fourth minute to Callum Bratley’s finish.

But Colwyn would not be discouraged, and six minutes into the second half Julian Williams scored from a rebound for one apiece.

And in the 66th minute it was 2-1 to the visitors when defender Will Bell fired in the winner following a free kick into the box.

Mawddach Challenge Cup round one
Llandudno Albion 2 Llandudno Junction 3

Unfancied Junction of Welsh Alliance Division Two pulled off the result of the day in the Mawddach Cup by winning 3-2 at Albion.

Dave Maddock struck first with his 14th goal of the season for the team placed third in Division One, but Harry Parkes-Smith levelled for a 1-1 half time scoreline.

Ricky Jones restored the home lead after 54 minutes, but on the hour the Railwaymen, 11th in Division Two, were back on terms through Jack Williams.

And Junction produced an 84th minute winner through Jack Nettleton to record the shock of the round.

Giant-killers Aberffraw were at it again as the Division Two outfit pipped Division One Prestatyn Sports 2-1 at Cae Cynlas.

Geraint Jones and Liam Williams gave Berffro a 2-0 half time lead, home keeper and man of the match Caron Hughes producing a penalty save to keep the away side scoreless.

Ian Dunn pulled one back for Sports via a free kick on the hour, but the hosts held on for a fine win, Hughes pulling off a magnificent double stop in the final minute.

Welsh National League Reserves & Colts Division
Llay Welfare Colts 3 Connah’s Quay Nomads 2

Hosting a Nomads team top of the table and having won its first 11 games, fourth-bottom Llay pulled off a superb surprise victory.

Matthew Worrall, Liam Hughes and James Towey grabbed the all-important goals for the Welfare heroes.

Leon Gierke was a hat-trick star as Llansannan stormed into the next round of the Premier Cup with a 5-1 home thumping of unbeaten Premier Division leaders Rhuddlan Town.

Gierke netted on seven, 58 and 80 minutes for Tom Lewis’ side, who were well worth their victory.

Rhys Hughes and Geraint Jones also found the net for the home team.
