Connah’s Quay Nomads’ long unbeaten league run is finally over at the 17th hurdle as they went down 2-0 at Cefn Druids tonight.

Cody Ruberto broke the deadlock a minute before half time, then Josef Faux ended the argument by scoring the second on 90.

It was a great night for The New Saints, who went four points clear at the summit following that loss for Nomads and their own 4-1 victory at Barry Town United.

Aeron Edwards, Ryan Brobbel (pen), Dean Ebbe and Jamie Mullan secured the points, Jonathan Hood having levelled for Barry in an exciting opening 12 minutes.

Caernarfon Town are up to fourth after walloping Airbus 5-0 at The Oval.

Darren Thomas was on target twice for the Canaries, Sion Bradley, Leo Smith and Sam Jones all adding a goal apiece. It was 0-0 at the interval, but the Canaries were unstoppable in the second period.

Cymru North

It ended all-square at Lon Talwrn, where Llangefni Town held high-flyers Rhyl to a 0-0 draw.

Cefni started in lively fashion and the Lilywhites were indebted to keeper Rory Crowther for a fine 17th minute save from Cai Powell Roberts.

Rhyl had the better chances in the half overall, though, James Murphy twice denied by good stops from Tyler French.

French impressed again in the second half, thwarting Arek Piskorski, but in the end 0-0 was just about a fair result.

Rhyl had four under-19 players on the field in the closing stages, proof that the club is giving local talent its opportunity.

Welsh Alliance Mawddach Cup

Glan Conwy romped to a 6-0 victory at Llandudno Amateurs which could have ended up more emphatic.

The Welsh Alliance Division One visitors led just 1-0 at half time courtesy of an Azzy Boyle wonder-strike.

The floodgates opened after the break. Lee Ellis doubled the lead before Archie Jones made it three with a composed finish – his first goal for the club.

Mezz Knight added a fourth with his first touch, then Archie Jones netted again.

Jamie Jones completed the rout with number six before the end, leaving the Division Two hosts a well-beaten side.
