Bangor 1876 spread some Christmas joy during hospital visit

Christmas is often referred to as the season of goodwill, and Bangor 1876’s players and coaching team showed their caring side by visiting the Dewi Ward in Ysbyty Gwynedd prior to Saturday’s game at Trearddur Bay.
First team players Michael Johnston and Les Davies accompanied assistant manager Dylan Williams on a trip to the hospital that saw them talk to children on the ward and hand out gifts. The presents included Bangor 1876 scarves kindly donated by generous supporter Liam Jones.
Team captain Michael said: “We are a community club and the community has done so much for us, so it was lovely to give something back.”

Michael’s own daughter had a stay in hospital when she was three months old, and he added: “Being in hospital with your children is a worry at any time of year, especially at Christmas.”
The popular defender also said: “It was lovely to see smiling faces from children, families and the fantastic staff at the hospital and we would like to wish everyone a happy Christmas.”
He expressed his hope that ‘the people who are under the care of our fantastic NHS staff get well soon’.
