Welsh National League Premier: Holywell hit 12, Rhostyllen return to summit

Goal crazy Holywell Town stretched their unbeaten run in the Welsh National League Premier Division to eight matches with a 12-0 massacre of visitors Castell Alun Colts.
Former Welsh Premier League star Mark Connolly led the way with a four-goal salvo, Sam Jones (3), Dylan Allshorn (2), Luke Edwards, Danny Dobbins and Jake Cooke completing the rout.
Rhostyllen are the new leaders on goal difference following a 5-2 home win over Rhydymwyn.
Player-manager Warren Aykroyd-Duckett hit a hat-trick, while Tom Douglas and Olie Allman also netted for the table-toppers, Nathan Mendoza with both for the visitors.
Second-place Cefn Albion kept their undefeated streak going by earning a 2-2 draw at FC Queen’s Park.
On a difficult surface, Cefn started brightly but the Park drew first blood as a brilliant cross by Edgar Lima was glanced home by Barry Torrence.
Albion equalised through a disputed penalty converted by Jordan Jones.
James Gregory’s diving header forced a stunning save from Cefn keeper Josh Roberts, but close to half time, Tony Jones’ pinpoint cross set up Torrence to make it 2-1 to the hosts.
The second half was much more even with action at both ends.
The Park will be frustrated not to have added a third before a free kick was sent into the home side’s box and as the ball was cleared it fell to Josh Valentine, whose first-ever first team goal turned out to be a 40-yard screamer.
Queen’s Park had one more chance to score as both Gregory and Edgar danced around the Cefn keeper only to struggle to slide the ball into a gaping net.
Saltney Town edged past Chirk AAA 2-1 thanks to goals from Elliot Bond and Jake Gibbons, with Harvey Edwards replying.
Llanuwchllyn and Plas Madoc drew one-apiece. Joe Evans struck for Llan and Liam Sklenar for the Wrexham-based visitors.
Penycae and Brickfield Rangers shared a 2-2 draw.
