Declan McManus once again proved the main difference as his double strike helped Bangor reach the last 16 of the relaunched NWCFA Challenge Cup.

The super Scot made it 12 goals in 11 matches this term in a victory which booked the Citizens a home tie with Cymru Premier Llandudno in round two in early November.

The hosts took an 11th minute lead from a corner, Isaac Godwin driving in the cross for McManus to drill home.

Tier 3 NFA, on a good recent run in Ardal North West, proved they were not at the BCS for the experience as they equalised on 17 minutes through Callum Roberts.

City were back in front with 32 on the clock when Josh Carey was felled in the box and McManus proved his usual reliable self from the spot.

With assistant-manager Steve Evans in charge for the first time, Bangor needed a third goal before they could start thinking the tie was safe and they extended their lead in the 71st minute.

Godwin delivered the cross and substitute Jack Burman headed home for 3-1.

Llandudno 3 Kinmel Bay 0

Three first-half goals were enough to send Llandudno through to the next stage at the expense of Tier 3 underdogs Kinmel Bay.

Cody Ruberto struck first for the Cymru Premier hosts from the penalty spot on nine minutes.

Leon Hughes doubled the lead after 14 and Cammron Morris soon made it three.
