Previews

Welsh Cup round two (2 pm)

Denbigh Town v Connah’s Quay Nomads

Potentially the tie of the round with both teams scoring so many goals in their respective North Wales League divisions.
Only concern for Nomads is they have not played for a month, whereas Denbigh were out as recently as last weekend, when they triumphed 12-2 at Mountain Rangers in the NEWFA Cup.

Llandudno v Llanfair United

Can North Wales League Division One leaders Llanfair cause an upset at Maesdu Park?
Welsh Premier side Llandudno have generally struggled in the league this season, but will be going all out to make up for last weekend’s hammering at Cardiff Metropolitan by progressing in the Welsh Cup.
Tudno and Llanfair have met twice in this competition in recent seasons, both times at Mount Road. In 2017-18, Sarah Colville’s side won 5-2 and in 2014-15 it finished 5-1 to Llandudno.
Llanfair are a team packed with goals who offer plenty of threat in attack, but with home advantage and hopefully a strong squad available, Tudno can be potent going forward too.

Rhyl v Bethel

Another fascinating tie between two teams who have started the campaign well in North Wales Division One.
Rhyl have already drawn 2-2 at Bethel in the league, so will take confidence from that outcome.
Bethel are without injured captain Gwenno Gibbard-Bolton and will rely on their young talent to see them through.

North Wales League Division One

Northop Hall v Corwen

Two teams in need of points.
Key Corwen defender Rachel Roberts is out for six weeks after breaking her wrist in three places in a Welsh Colleges tournament. She played two games with a broken wrist as the Wrexham college team reached the semi-finals, but definitely misses the match at Northop Hall.

Hall midfielder Rebecca Hughes faces a late fitness test.

North Wales League Division Two

Mountain Rangers v Amlwch Town

Rangers have a few important players missing for the visit of Division Two leaders Amlwch.
After last weekend’s heavy defeat to Denbigh Town in the NEWFA Cup, the Rhosgadfan team will be keen to bounce back against opponents many see as favourites for the title.
Amlwch will be boosted by the return of Charley Smith to the squad, the defender having re-signed for the club from The New Saints.
Fellow defender Laura Eynon is also back at Lon Bach, but will not be available tomorrow.

Amlwch right-winger Ceri Slaney, who has been on the sidelines for a while after an operation, is in contention to play.

Pwllheli v Holywell

A long journey for bottom side Holywell who will hope their good results in recreational football provide a confidence boost for their test in the Llyn Peninsula.
Pwllheli have made a steady start to life in Division Two and are finding the net on a regular basis.
