North Wales women’s football weekend preview

Yet again the weather could win in the North Wales women’s football stakes this weekend, but with 3G pitches in operation we might get a couple of games played at least.

In the Betty Pickering Cup quarter-finals, the Northop Hall v Airbus tie has been switched to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium in Broughton, with kick-off time arranged for 6 pm.

Also on 3G will be the match at Connah’s Quay between the Nomads and Mountain Rangers in North Wales League Division Two.

Nomads will be having their first outing since sensationally reaching the FAW Women’s Welsh Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win over Welsh Premier Port Talbot a fortnight ago.

Rangers had their first match in 15 long weeks last Sunday when a late Katie Bowe goal secured a 3-3 draw at Llanberis. The Lamas will just be glad to get some more action under their belts.

Elsewhere, who knows? The rain is falling heavily, which puts all games being played on grass under threat.

We can but hope for as much as possible to go ahead.

Weather oh weather amend your evil ways

We have a bunch of girls who just want to play
