Anglesey Football League club Cefni FC have had 18 points deducted and been expelled from a cup competition for rule-breaking.
A disciplinary panel met on Wednesday, October 30, to consider a charge of Cefni fielding ineligible players in six of their league games this term, as well as an Elias Cup round one tie versus Mountain Rangers.
The club was found guilty and had three points taken off their total for each league fixture played where the offence occurred – amounting to an 18-point penalty.
Cefni were also eliminated from the Elias Cup and opponents Mountain Rangers reinstated.
At the same meeting, Arriva Bangor FC had three points deducted after being found guilty of non-fulfillment of a league fixture against Holyhead Hotspur Reserves. This game will be rescheduled by the league secretary.
Cefni now slump to the bottom of the Anglesey League and are on minus 8 points from nine games following today’s 1-0 win over CPD Y Fali.
