North Wales FootGolf club finishes sixth in UK – and star player Jenny Broughall’s year goes from strength-to-strength

The Dyffryn Clwyd FootGolf Centre squad

To be sixth best in the UK is quite a feat at any discipline – so well done Dyffryn Clwyd FootGolf.

The North Wales enthusiasts enjoyed a great weekend at the UK FootGolf Club League Finals.

Team leader Bleddyn Jones said: “The best yet! Well done to Team Boults FootGolf and Neil Shave for such a well-run event on a superb course at Dullatur Golf Club.

“Though slightly disappointed to have lost to Glasgow in the quarter-finals, to actually finish sixth in the UK is a massive achievement for the club, but as with every competition you always want more.”

There were some fantastic individual performances from Dyffryn Clwyd over the weekend.

Not surprisingly, leading the way was the prolific sporting all-rounder Jenny Broughall, who won the ladies category with a magnificent score of -4.

JJ Greenshields achieved a great fourth place in the junior category +8, this in his very first year of playing the sport.

And Bleddyn Jones was an admirable second in the O45s +2

Bleddyn added: “We would like to extend our thanks to Wrexham Inclusion Football Club for lending us their mini bus for the weekend, it was very much appreciated. And well done to Muckhart FootGolf Club on their victory.

“It was a great event held in a friendly and relaxed environment, but still competitive at the same time. Well done all.”

How Dyffryn Clwyd finished
Jen Broughall -4
Bleddyn Jones +2
Rhys Williams +4
Fred White +7
JJ Greenshields +8
Stephen Grant +9
Stu Paisley +9
James Bethel +12
Rachel Paisley +13
Wayne Greenshields +13
Mason Greenshields +17
Mazz Davies +18

The club would love to hear from you if you fancy helping them break their quarter final bogey next year.

Bleddyn added: “We are trying to grow the game and in particular looking for 20 to 40 year olds that have played football and are no longer active in the game. If they can ping a ball, we’ll teach them the rest.”
