One of the major success stories of the second half of last season fired in a “Cat-Trick” to move herself up among the leaders in the North Wales Women’s Football goalscorers’ chart this weekend.

Catrin Evans of Amlwch scored three times to raise her total to six goals since joining her new club in the summer.

Last season Catrin, still just 16, scored 18 goals in just 12 matches to help Bethel secure the joint Division One title.

Anglesey-based Catrin’s treble was complemented by team-mate Lexi Crawley also scoring three to become joint leader of the table with Katie Bowe of Mountain Rangers.

Bowe was also on the mark on Sunday, netting with a trademark long-distance free kick in a 2-1 defeat at NFA.

Gemma Jones, last season’s top markswoman in all competitions with 32, is now up to second in the standings on eight goals after hitting three in Sunday’s 10-0 whitewash of Northop Hall.

Ffion Owen of Amlwch is outright third after her solitary goal against former club Caernarfon put her on seven.
