After four straight wins putting them top of the Division One table, Hawarden Rangers were brought crashing down to earth by a fired-up Coedpoeth.
Coedy’s first goal came from a corner, Oliver Lewis losing his marker to head home.
Rangers equalised, but then Lewis first forced a mistake from the home full-back before robbing the keeper to slot home his and the visitors’ second goal.
Curt Griffiths made it 3-1, but United switched off twice before half time and enabled Hawarden to go in level at 3-3.
Karl Fenlon’s Coedpoeth came out like a team possessed for the second half and Lewis soon completed his hat-trick.
Kevin Breeze’s corner led to Griffiths leaping like a salmon to head home number five.
Nathan Jones made it 6-3 on the counter to seal the win, a late reply from Rangers a mere consolation.
Following back-to-back cup defeats, Albion looked to be up against it when they travelled to leaders Denbigh for a Friday night league battle.
However, it was Darren Jones’ visiting side that took all three points and as a result temporarily climbed to the summit themselves.
After a goal-less first half at Central Park, Dan Evans fired the travellers in front only for Sion Jones to level four minutes later with a cracking strike.
Evans made it 2-1 and Peter Jones added a third for Albion before Jake Walker pulled one back in overtime for Town.
Bodedern had not won away in the league this season until they broke their duck in fine style at Cae Clyd on Saturday.
Dean Redmond, Aidan Clark and Tom Wood (2) shared the goals for Ricky Williams’ men.
Mold were impressive 5-1 victors over in-form Borras.
Terry Nicholas, Aaron North, Brandon Jones, Stuart Hayes and Josh Williams supplied the home goals, Alex McCubbin with the sole Albion net-finder.
In what was labelled North Wales football’s match of the day, Town defeated Alex in a battle of unbeaten sides at Halkyn Road.
Mark Connolly, Shaun Tuck and Luke Edwards struck for the Wellmen, Rhys Nash replying for the Alex.
Perhaps the surprise of the season so far in the women’s game, as a Rangers side which topped the table after three big wins were defeated by a highly-motivated NFA team.
Katie Bowe fired home a 37th minute free kick to put the visitors in front with her 10th goal of the season.
NFA deservedly equalised before half time when a long range effort from Emily Jones proved too good for keeper Sara Lacey.
The hosts totally dominated the second half, Lacey producing several fine stops before the winner arrived on 73 minutes when substitute Ashleigh Mills hammered in a tremendous 30-yard strike.
