October will be an action-packed month for the fighting Humphreys brothers

Cafan, Wayne and Ben Humphreys have an action-packed October lined up

October will be a hectic month for the fighting Humphreys brothers from Porthmadog with titles galore on the line.

The three brothers, who recently opened their own Mad-Dogs boxing gym in Port, are all unbeaten.

October 12 – Battle of the Island

It all starts on October 12 with the Battle of the Island show at Shell Island, Llanbedr.

Cafan Humphreys will defend his Universal Boxing Alliance British heavyweight title against the experienced Barry Fielding of Holyhead, a former UBA Welsh super-heavyweight champion.

Undefeated Cafan, 29, landed the British heavyweight crown on the summer Universal Boxing Alliance championship show at the Tivoli in Buckley, defeating Jack Godfrey from Derby.

Wayne Humphreys, 34, will put his UBA Welsh heavyweight belt on the line against Derwyn Brooks.

Wayne won the Welsh crown on the same Tivoli show as brother Cafan, beating undefeated Martin Jones.

The Shell Island bill will also feature a battle between champion Paul Thomas of Dolgellau and challenger Guto Davies for the UBA Welsh cruiserweight championship.

Kelvin Humphreys, Wayne’s son, was due to make his boxing debut on this show, but has been forced to withdraw due to suffering a broken hand.

However, the youngest of the Humphreys fighting clan, Dion, will feature in his first contest instead.

Ben Humphreys will also compete on the Battle of the Island show against an as yet unnamed opponent.

Recently crowned Welsh champion Martin Williams of Penrhyndeudraeth and developing prospect Gethin Jones are also on the schedule.

October 19 – Inspire Championship Boxing at Derby – Box Mania 111

Wayne Humphreys will square off against Derby’s Jack Godfrey for the British super-heavyweight title on this show.

Jack is an experienced fighter and well-known to the Humphreys brothers from past fights.

October 19 – Rise of the Welsh Warriors at Criccieth

There is a big night in store for Ben Humphreys on this busy kickboxing, boxing, K1 and grappling show organised by Marvin Pritchard and Sally Williams of MPMA Tremadog.

Criccieth Memorial Hall will be the venue to host what is currently a 15-fight card (subject to change).

Top of the bill is Ben Humphreys taking on champion Alan Blacks of Caernarfon for the WUMA heavyweight title.

Someone’s unbeaten record has to go in this much-awaited contest.

Blacks moved to 5 and 0 last Saturday when he landed the Market Mayhem heavyweight title with a clear points decision win over Alan Mark Roberts at the Market Hall, Caernarfon.

This will be Blacks’ last fight so he will be determined to go out a winner, but Ben is sure to be a tough opponent, being an undefeated fighter himself.

October 26 – Ultimate Fight Night at Colwyn Bay

Ben Humphreys will take on Stephen Wilkins at the UFN show in Colwyn Bay on October 26 for the British heavyweight title (boxing).

More information on this exciting event to follow.

Amy Jane Kerrigan, a trainer at the Mad-Dogs gym in Porthmadog, has her first two contests coming up in October.

On the Battle of the Island show on October 12, she takes on Esta Bainsley from Manchester.

Amy will then be kickboxing on the Rise of the Welsh Warriors show against Karalin Aranyl.

Shell Island will be Amy’s first fight in the ring/cage as her previously scheduled debut opponent was pulled out on the night for medical reasons.
