Two developing teams seeking their first win of the season in the North Wales Women’s Football League meet tomorrow night (Thursday, October 3).
Holywell FC Girls and Ladies and Caernarfon Town are in opposition in a Division Two clash at Halkyn Road (7 pm, admission free).
The match has been brought forward three days, having been originally scheduled to take place this Sunday (October 6).
The Wellwomen have lost their first two league games 12-0 and 14-1, while Caernarfon have three straight defeats on their record – 5-3, 7-1 and 7-1.
Both teams have young squads who are settling into competitive football. Results are going to be largely irrelevant this season, but tomorrow gives one of them a chance to secure a first win, or for both to pick up their first point.
While Holywell have introduced their first-ever women’s team this season, Caernarfon have a long and illustrious history in ladies football, having competed in the Welsh Premier League in the past, but this term they are rebuilding with a very young, local squad of players.
