Connah’s Quay Nomads 3 (Insall 11 & 64; Morris pen 46)
Penybont 1 (Brass OG 74)
Jamie Insall struck twice for a Nomads side which made it eight games unbeaten in the Cymru Premier after a Sunday afternoon success over next-to-bottom Penybont.
The former Hibernian and East Fife striker broke the deadlock in the 11th minute, firing past keeper Rhys Watson from the edge of the six-yard box.
Quay remained on the offensive, Mike Wilde sending a bicycle kick towards goal only for Wilson to gather low near his right post.
Despite dominating the first half, the Nomads went in leading by just the one goal.
They needed a second after the break to take a firm grip on the game, and a minute after the restart they had a chance to get it when they won a penalty for a foul on Insall.
Callum Morris stepped up and drove the ball into the bottom right corner to make it 2-0 after 46 minutes.
Andy Morrison’s men stayed on top and on 64 minutes Insall scored an almost identical goal to his first.
In the 74th minute, Penybont earned a consolation thanks to a Kane Owen free kick, which floated towards goal from around 30 yards out, hitting the crossbar and deflecting off the back of keeper Lewis Brass to go in.
This did not change the flow of the game, however, and Nomads pushed for more goals right up to the end.

Carmarthen Town 0
After regular Airbus keeper Dave Roberts was injured in the warm-up young Academy product Lewis Hall took over in goal and marked his debut with a clean sheet.
Importantly, the Wingmakers also picked up a much-needed win – just their second in eight matches – to lift them out of the bottom three.
Andy Owens provided the only goal midway through the first half.

This match was postponed because of a clash of kits between the two teams.
Let’s leave it there. Enough embarrassment already caused over this….
