Trearddur Bay Bulls returned to winning ways in some style with a 6-2 thrashing of Llangoed in the Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd League.
Justin Williams collected a hat-trick inside the opening 20 minutes for Richard Owen’s side, Dave Webb, Gwynfor Owen and Tom Hadley adding one apiece. Guy Hughes and Wayne Thomas responded for the visitors.
After the disappointment of a first league defeat of the season in their last outing at Bontnewydd, the key for Bulls was to start strongly and this they did. In just the fourth minute, Williams rode a few tackles before curling home from 20 yards.
Williams made it two with a fine finish on 14 minutes and after 19 it was three when the striker’s corner went directly in, despite George Hibbert initially looking to have got a touch on the ball.
Gwynfor Owen added number four on 26 minutes, but soon after was sent off following a coming together with the Llangoed centre-half.
Bulls needed a reshuffle and the visitors took advantage by pulling a goal back through Hughes before the break.
Llangoed came out strongly for the second half, but keeper Konner Druce produced some good stops and was helped by the crossbar on one occasion.
By the hour Bay had settled with 10 men and looked very dangerous on the break. That is where Webb settled the outcome with a great finish.
Webb was denied another by a great save before Llangoed made it 5-2 with a Thomas penalty that Druce almost kept out.
That was not the end of the scoring as Hadley notched his ninth of the season from the spot to make it 6-2 at full time.
Waunfawr pipped Talysarn Celts 3-2, Meurig Parry (2) and Dylan Hughes for the Beganifs, Celt Owen with both for the visitors.
Ian Williams and James Ryan ensured Caergybi claimed a 2-1 victory over Llanystumdwy which on the balance of play should have been much more emphatic, but the points were banked all the same. Sion Pierce replied for Llan, whose busy goalkeeper Ben Jones was man of the match for them once more.
Glantraeth narrowly beat Ogwen Tigers 2-1, Marc Wilson putting the visitors in front before Iwan Kirkham and Huw Griffith turned the tables.
Cai Penny Williams put Bontnewydd 1-0 up against Menai Bridge Tigers, but the Anglesey side rallied to win 3-1 thanks to an own goal, plus further efforts from Mitchell Jones and Kelvin Frazer.
Cole Whittle and a Dion Jones own goal secured Bro Goronwy a 2-0 result at island rivals Llannerchymedd.
