The Canaries held on for three points after Aber staged a big finish at Park Avenue.

Noah Edwards put Sean Eardley’s side in front in the 20th minute with a fine drilled finish into the bottom corner.

The hosts levelled on the half-hour when great trickery from Joe Phillips down the right saw him then cut inside and curl a beauty into the top right corner.

However, a Nathan Craig penalty put the visitors 2-1 up at half time.

When Leo Smith added a third for the Cofis in the 54th minute, the contest looked over but Aber refused to give in.

Marc Williams went close before in the 90th minute substitute Paulo Mendes headed in from a Matthew Jones corner.

Then in added time Jones so nearly equalised when he rattled the crossbar from a free kick.

Caernarfon are now unbeaten in five Cymru Premier matches.

Honours ended even in a dour clash at Latham Park which saw Nomads maintain their unbeaten record

In a first half of few clear chances, Michael Wilde netted for the Quay but was ruled offside, while home keeper Jones had to be sharp off his line more than once.

It was in added time that Craig Williams’ deep cross from the right was retrieved by Jack Kelly, who played the ball into Nick Rushton, and his sublime touch left James Owen flailing before the former Wrexham front man lashed into the roof of the net to make it 1-0 to the Robins.

Nomads came out strongly for the second half, Callum Roberts heading just wide before sub Nathan Woolfe volleyed into the side-netting when well-positioned from a free kick into the box.

The visitors drew level on 63 minutes when Michael Bakare was involved in a race to the ball with the keeper, chipped Jones and cool as you like volleyed into the net for one-apiece. Newtown claimed the scorer was offside when the ball was played, but the decision stood.

Bakare volleyed over from a Callum Morris cross before the Quay goal-getter was again denied by the bravery of glovesman Jones late on.

Newtown had a couple of penalty appeals turned down and found some decent attacking positions, but were unable to make the most of them.
