Three second half goals secured the three points that moved Trearddur Bay back to the summit on goal difference.

It was back to league action for both Bay and Penmaenmawr today after recent cup action.

Blustery, wet conditions made things difficult for both teams as they struggled to get control of the ball.

Bay had the first big chance after just 7 minutes when Liam Morris beat the offside trap and laid the ball to Joe Todd, but the ball bobbled up in front of him and his shot sailed over the bar.

Phoenix put on a lot of pressure, forcing Bay back into their own half and creating a few half-chances, and numerous corners, but they could not find a breakthrough.

In the 17th minute, Bay thought they had taken the lead. A free-kick was delivered into the box, Todd headed it across goal for Sean McCaffery to finish. However, the assistant referee’s flag ruled it out for offside. Right before half-time, Ashley Lavender was called upon to make a great save from another Todd shot and keep the score goalless at the break.

The rain subsided a bit at the start of the second half, allowing Bay to take a bit more control of the game and in the 54th minute, they got their reward. McCaffery drove through the midfield and passed to Morris, whose clever flick found Callum Parry, who finished calmly with his left foot to make it 1–0.

Just two minutes later, the lead was doubled. Morris bundled over in the box, and the referee pointed to the spot. Parry stepped up and calmly scored his second goal of the match and 22nd of the season in all competitions.

The heavy rain came back, making conditions tough again, but in the 70th minute, Bay sealed the win. Ben Owen sent a cross into the box from the right and Morris rose highest to head the ball over the keeper to make it 3–0.

Penmaenmawr kept fighting and almost pulled a goal back with 10 minutes left, good work from former Trearddur Bay player Toby Jones setting up Dan Evans in the box, but the latter’s shot was high over the bar.

There were chances for both teams in the final few minutes as spaces appeared, but Trearddur Bay held on for the hard fought 3 points which put them back at the top of the table.
