NEWFA SENIOR CHALLENGE CUP ROUND TWO – OCTOBER 6, 2026

Airbus UK Broughton 7 Coedpoeth United 1

On a night where several first team regulars were rested, holders Airbus stormed into the next round with a seven-goal show.
Sixteen-year-old Dylan Cusato and James Hughes both scored twice for the Cymru Premier hosts, Kacper Bury, William Hewitt and sub Jack Davies adding one apiece.
Substitute Cal Roberts replied for fourth-tier Coedpoeth.

Brickfield Rangers 1 Llay Welfare 1 (Brickfield won 3-2 on penalties)

Cymru North leaders Brickfield edged through on penalties against their Tier 3 visitors.
Veteran Alex Darlington handed Rangers a 29th minute lead, but Ashton Williams levelled just before the hour and that was the end of the scoring.
Home keeper Ryan Price saved two pens in the shootout as the green and whites progressed 3-2.

Buckley Town 5 Holywell United 1

Buckley advanced as expected against Tier 5 battlers Holywell United.
Dylan Williams nudged the visitors ahead after just three minutes, but Rhys Edwards and Paul Johnson replied late in the first half to hand the Bucks a lead.
Ben Guest made it 3-1 from a superb free kick before Lewis Hodson and Dylan Proctor added further goals for Dave Evans’ side.

Flint Town United 3 Broughton United 1

Jayden Evans struck first for Tier 3 underdogs Broughton on six minutes.
Flint turned things around to be 3-1 up by the break, J O’Neill (2) and Marquez Yusuf their scorers.

Ruthin Town 3 Gresford Athletic 1

Three goals in 11 minutes later in the second half from Jack Waterhouse, Ethan Davies and Noah Sumner secured Ruthin’s passage to the next round.
Gresford had led since the fifth minute through Emmanuel Lawal’s strike before the hosts turned the tables.
