FAW Welsh Cup round two draw – repeat of last season’s final, great home draw for giant-killers Llysfaen
Tier 5 giant-killers Llysfaen have scooped a great home draw against fellow North Wales Coast East League side Mochdre Sports in the second round of the FAW Welsh Cup.
Division One heroes Llysfaen, who knocked out Tier 4 Barmouth and Dyffryn in the last round with a stoppage time winner despite being down to 10 men, will host Premier Division Sports, who caused a stir themselves at the last stage when they eliminated third-tier Pwllheli on pens.
Tonight’s draw also produced a repeat of last season’s final with Flint Town United given home advantage against holders Caernarfon Town, who won 3-0 when the Cymru Premier rivals met in April’s showpiece at Newport.
Tier 3 Llannefydd will be thrilled at the prospect of entertaining Cymru Premier side Llandudno and it will be the same scenario for Llay Miners Welfare, who will welcome Holywell Town to The Ring.
Another eye-catcher is the all-Cymru North battle between Denbigh Town and last season’s semi-finalists CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876.
