On this date 25 years ago a late winner by Marc Lloyd Williams sent City through to the Quarter Finals of the League Cup after a less than inspiring local derby at Farrar Road.
Without the calming influence of Clayton Blackmore and midfield schemer Simon Davies, City suffered a further blow when Paul Roberts withdrew through injury. In came Warren Gibbs, a full debut for 16 year old Owain Tudur Jones, and up front the flying machine – Danny Glyn Roberts.
In a flat first half Huw Griffiths headed narrowly against the woodwork whilst Caernarfon midfielder Ryan Baker fired over from outside the box.

The second half sprang to life on 47 minutes as Kenny Burgess put City ahead with a close range header from a right wing cross.
However within ten minutes the lead was lost as former City utility man Anthony “Tobo” Smith celebrated his arrival from Aberystwyth Town with a header from a Caernarfon freekick.
With a raised tempo the match swayed from end to end, Sean Hazelden went close to yet another goal for City but his header went wide. The impressive Alan Goodall continued his hard work whilst Phil Priestley again showed clean handling.
Then with 87 minutes on the clock Lloyd Williams snatched the decider with a short range finish from an Aled Rowlands cross.
A mention for young debutants Owain Tudur and Danny Glyn who worked hard and made a favourable impression in place of their more experienced counterparts.
